What you’re buying
A monthly subscription to a printed title. Each month we post you one issue. What’s in an issue is described on the title’s page, and the subject changes every month.
An issue of Nature Printed is a sheet of A4 printed on both sides and folded, a postcard and a bookmark, in a C5 envelope.
By law, every issue must match its description and be of satisfactory quality. We print the issues ourselves, so colours on paper may look a little different from your screen. If we ever plan to change what comes in the envelope in a way that gives you noticeably less, we’ll email you first, and you can cancel before the change.
Price and payment
- The price is on the title’s page and again at checkout, before you pay. It includes postage. There’s one price for UK addresses and another for addresses outside the UK. Outside the UK, checkout shows the price in euros or in US, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand dollars if that’s your currency; anywhere else it’s in pounds, and Stripe may offer to convert it to your currency.
- You pay by card, or with Link (Stripe’s saved-card service), through Stripe, our payment provider. The first payment is taken when you subscribe, then the monthly price on the same date each month until you cancel. If an offer or discount code takes money off your first payment, checkout shows it before you pay, and later payments are at the full monthly price. If that date doesn’t exist in a month (the 31st, say), the payment is taken on the last day of that month.
- If a payment fails, Stripe will try again over the following days and email you. We post an issue once its payment has gone through, so a late payment can mean a late issue.
- If we change the price, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, so you can cancel first if you want to.
When your issues are posted
- We post each month’s issue in the last week of the month, by Royal Mail standard post, untracked.
- If you subscribe on or before the 20th of a month, your first issue is that month’s. If you subscribe after the 20th, it’s the next month’s. After that, each monthly payment pays for one issue.
- Nature Printed No. I posts in the last week of October 2026.
- In the UK, allow up to 10 working days from the posting date. Outside the UK, allow up to 30 working days.
- Check your address at checkout. You can change it in your account at any time; a change made by the 20th applies to that month’s issue. We can’t replace an issue posted to a wrong or out-of-date address you gave us.
- Outside the UK, any import taxes or charges your country makes are yours to pay.
Cancelling and refunds
Once an issue has been posted, it can’t be cancelled or refunded. The only exceptions are the 14-day right to cancel after your first issue arrives, and issues that go missing or arrive damaged, both set out below.
Cancelling your subscription
- Cancel at any time in your account (manage your subscription) or by emailing us. This stops all future payments.
- You’ll still receive any issue you’ve already paid for. Payments already taken aren’t refunded, except under the 14-day right below.
The 14-day right to cancel
The law gives you 14 days to change your mind, starting on the day your first issue arrives. It covers the start of your subscription only, not each later issue.
- To use it, email [email protected] within the 14 days from the email address you subscribed with, or send the form at the end of these terms.
- If we haven’t posted your first issue yet, we’ll refund you in full and there’s nothing to send back.
- If it has been posted, post it back within 14 days of telling us, complete and unused. We’ll give you the return address when you cancel. You pay the return postage.
- We refund what you’ve paid within 14 days of receiving the issue back, or of your showing us proof that you posted it, if that’s sooner. Refunds go to the card you paid with; your bank may take a few more days to show it.
- If anything comes back written on, cut, used or damaged, or anything is missing, we’ll reduce the refund by the value lost, up to the full price.
Missing or damaged issues
- Damaged, misprinted or incomplete: email us within 48 hours of it arriving, with a photo. We’ll post a replacement free of charge, or refund that issue if we’ve run out of spares.
- Not arrived: if an issue hasn’t reached you 10 working days after the posting date (30 outside the UK), email us within six weeks of the posting date and we’ll post a replacement free of charge.
If we have to stop
If we ever pause or close a title, we’ll email you as soon as we can and refund any payment for an issue we haven’t posted.
Complaints
If something isn’t right, email [email protected] and tell us what happened. We’ll do our best to put it right.

The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts. If you live outside the UK, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law.
